Ingredients:
4 slices of Ace Bakery Bistro Bread (or another high-quality bread)
4-6 slices of thick-cut bacon
2-4 ripe tomatoes, sliced
4-6 leaves of crisp lettuce (like romaine or butter lettuce)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise (your favorite brand)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 clove garlic, smashed
A handful of fresh herbs (basil, chives, and oregano)
Butter, for grilling
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Grill the Bread: Lightly butter one side of each slice of Ace Bakery Bistro Bread. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the bread, buttered side down, until golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Prepare the Herbed Mayo: In a food processor or blender, mix together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, smashed garlic clove, and your chopped fresh herbs (I used basil, chives, and oregano). Set aside.
- Cook the Bacon: Fry the bacon over medium heat to your desired level of crispiness. Once done, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.
- Assemble the BLT: Spread a generous layer of the herbed mayo on one side of each slice of bread. Place a layer of seasoned tomato slices on the mayo, sprinkling them with a bit of salt and pepper. dd the crispy bacon slices, followed by the lettuce leaves. Spread a little more of that herbed mayo on the remaining slice of bread. Cut the sandwich in half and enjoy your ultimate BLT!
